ONGOING ART PROGRAM Grades 7-12
A rigorous, studio-based program designed for students ready to move beyond fundamentals and develop advanced technical and conceptual skills.
Students engage in a disciplined, sequential curriculum that emphasizes precision, critical thinking, and intentional artistic practice:
Advanced Drawing: Observational, figure, and perspective drawing with a focus on proportion, structure, and spatial accuracy
Composition & Design: Complex 2D composition, visual hierarchy, and application of the Principles of Design
Color Theory: Sophisticated use of color relationships to create mood, depth, and cohesion
Painting & Media: Acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media with an emphasis on control, layering, and material fluency
Art History & Contemporary Practice: Analysis of influential artists and movements to inform student work and deepen context
Critique & Assessment: Structured critique modeled after real-world artistic and academic environments
Concept Development: Students begin to explore intention, symbolism, and personal voice within their work
