Students progress through a sequential, cyclical curriculum, developing both technical skill and artistic understanding through:
Foundations of Art: Elements of Art & Principles of Design applied in every project
Color & Composition: Strong 2D design and color theory to create cohesive, visually compelling work
Drawing Skills: Observational, perspective, and figure drawing using graphite, charcoal, ink, and pastels
Painting: Acrylic, watercolor, and gouache techniques with an emphasis on control and material exploration
Art History: Study of influential artists—past and present—to connect practice with real-world context
Critique & Assessment: Thoughtful evaluation to strengthen skill, awareness, and artistic growth
Personal Expression: Students develop their own voice and meaning within structured projects
